Climate Legacy Fund: The only platform that matches philanthropists with game-changing climate solutions

Here’s what I learned after helping climate entrepreneurs and researchers struggling to get their work funded:

They waste most of their time and money filling out arduous grant applications and stressing about funding instead of scaling their climate solutions…while the planet burns.

Foundations and philanthropists are also frustrated. They are inundated with grant requests but it’s not easy to separate the wheat from the chaff. Each of them sets up scientific advisory boards and pays technical advisors… why not combine forces and work together?

Sure - You can give a dollar in philanthropic capital and have a narrow impact on a small scale. Or you can turn every dollar you give into five dollars by partnering with other stakeholders at a bioregional level, national or international level. We do the due diligence once, and everyone benefits.

I see a lot of duplication of effort — projects doing similar work but competing instead of collaborating, chasing after the same funding sources, and this makes no sense.

That’s why Impact Stars is inviting those interested in funding climate solutions to pool their funds together for greater impact.

Our data-informed, BIPOC-led process will soon offer grantees a one-stop “Common Grant Application for Climate Solutions” so they will apply once and get 'certified' to be considered by all our members.

We will screen each project to make sure it meets our objective scientific and technical criteria.

Our process is designed to have all of the rigor funders require (while leaving space for serendipity and innovation - I don't know a single project that follows a straight pre-planned path).
